An entry lobby with room to hang coats, leave shoes or boots in stormy weather, and even borrow an umbrella leads to an open living space warmed by underfloor heat and a wood burning stove for cosy fires. Expect a welcome basket of kindling and firewood to get you going.

Comfortable seating around the fire offers room to put your feet up or stretch out. With a wide selection of books, games, puzzles, stereo, docking station, and free-sat television with all region DVD player there’s ample indoor entertainment, but it’s hard to ignore the stunning panoramic views from the living, dining and kitchen areas. Flocks of sheep and a few cattle populate the neighbouring croft land bordering Morven Cottage’s half acre plot that’s elevated above Dunvegan Loch.

The dining area, suitable for two plus guests, shares the views as does the kitchen, making meal prep a treat rather than chore. You’ll find plenty of pots, pans, baking trays, and sharp knives to speed the work. The kitchen is equipped with Siemens appliances including induction hob, convection oven, warming drawer, and full size fridge. A dishwasher adds to convenience. You’re invited to help yourself to basic supplies in the open pantry drawer which holds a range of teas, coffee, spices, baking needs, and grains.

Off the kitchen is a utility room with washer/dryer, laundry sink, freezer, and storage for ironing board, vacuum and other household essentials.

Luxury sheets cover the UK king bed; choose between hypoallergenic or down pillows and duvet; enjoy good reading light or a bedside CD before drifting off – or take in the starry sky on a clear night. There’s space for hanging garments, a chest and luggage stand. The hall bathroom with deep soaking tub, rain shower above and plenty of fluffy bath sheets provides the refreshing start – or relaxing end – to your day.

For easy access to Morven’s setting of natural beauty, doors from both the sitting area and the bedroom lead to an outdoor patio with seating for enjoying the wildflower meadow, native birdsong, views across the Loch, and the vast, ever-changing cloud patterns as they play across the  horizon.

With free wi-fi and heat included, morven cottage offers self catering at its finest.
